Brendan Halligan

Brendan Halligan is the founder and principal of the firm.

Brendan was formerly a partner of Ernst & Young where he specialised in business valuation services. Before that he was a partner of Arthur Andersen where he was the national head of the business valuation practice and earlier a partner in the forensic accounting practice.

Brendan specialises in business valuation and forensic accounting and has undertaken many large and complex assignments for national and international clients over a wide variety of industries and for a wide variety of purposes.

Brendan has provided expert evidence on valuation and forensic accounting matters before the Federal Court of Australia, the Supreme Court of New South Wales, and the District Court of South Australia. He has also been appointed as a referee by the Supreme Court of New South Wales.

Brendan has taken a leadership role in the forensic accounting and business valuation professions through his involvement in the Forensic Accounting Special Interest Group and the Business Valuation Special Interest Group of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Brendan has published articles on forensic and valuation matters and has presented lectures to many professional and educational bodies.

  • Chartered Accountant (Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants).
  • Bachelor of Economics, University of Adelaide.
  • Master of Arts in Accountancy, University of South Australia.
  • Financial Analysis Certificate, University of Technology Sydney.
  • Member of the national committee of the Business Valuation Special Interest Group of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
  • Co-founder, inaugural National Chairman, and current national committee member of the Forensic Accounting Special Interest Group of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
